Over qualified and Over experienced

What we facing in Pakistan for jobs this is the experienced my brother faced when he went from UK after completing his Masters Degree and work in some companies for better future and will to live with Parents but what he faced in response is ‘You are over qualified’ or ‘over experienced’ why? Just because he studied in UK from a reputed University and he worked in UK for a year but he used to work in Pakistan and he worked almost 6 years in Pakistan. He also applied at Geo Pakistan for job after a long process he was called for a technical interview and the question the interviewer asked him was:

- How was your stay in UK?

- What did you study there?

- How was the weather?

- When did you come back?

Etc

Just to make clear this was technical interview. After some days he was rejected and the reply was he was not technical enough je didn’t replied for most technical questions. After we asked someone we know to find out what’s the problem is we were shocked the manager of that department is only has Bachelor Degree and he was scared for his own position.

So if we go out to Pakistan for higher education and some experience and want to go back what do we need to do?

- Do we need to take out our degree from Resume?

- Do we need to show us fresh graduate?

After waiting 18 months final my brother got the job but not the one which is best for his qualification and experience but he had no choice.

I am sure most of us went back to Pakistan somehow faced some similar issues but if we are going back to Pakistan that means we want to do something for Pakistan and whatever we learned here so far we want to spread it back to our country. But still so much talent is away from the country and these types of issues always discourage them to go back.
